A Lesson in Lingerie...
Getting dressed begins with your underwear. Obvious. So…why are so many women getting it wrong? (A staggering 70%!) The correct underwear gives you confidence, better posture and can improve your overall appearance.
After working for a similarly independent lingerie shop some years back, it became clear to me that women simply don’t prioritise underwear as they should. Wearing the right bra for the right occasion is just as important as the right shoes or dress.
I see little point in spending money on a dress if the desired look cannot be achieved due to badly fitting lingerie. I want to educate women on the importance of wearing the right size bra. The most common mistake women make is choosing a cup size which is too small and a back size which is too big.
3 Signs of a Badly Fitting Bra
- The back of your bra should never ride up your back, as this gives you no support and drags your bust down at the front;
- The wire on your bra should sit snuggly around your ribcage, not on your bust;
- Any overspill, or bulging out underneath, means it’s definately the wrong size.
Remember we all vary in shape and size. A plunge bra may be great on a friend but do nothing for you. Its trial and error but once you find your perfect bra shape and learn the shapes and styles to avoid you will never look back.
